Assurance Manager - Affordable Housing

Position type:  Full-time, salaried       Location: Charlotte, Raleigh, Winston Salem, NC or Greensboro, NC,  Hybrid/Remote

International Tax Leader-Principal Senior Manager

Position type: Salaried, full-time
Location:  Charlotte NC, Raleigh NC, Greensboro NC, Winston-Salem NC, hybrid/remote

Qualifications: Bachelor’s and/or advanced degree in accounting; minimum of 8 years of recent public accounting experience, with a focus in international taxation (“ITX”); previous experience leading or managing an ITX practice strongly encouraged; CPA certified, JD/LLM or equivalent; proficiency with computers and tax-related software; excellent client service and interpersonal skills; organized and professional in their communication, both written and oral; valid driver’s license and good MVR.

Client Service:  Provides timely and exceptional client service to our portfolio of ITX clients and prospects, including coordination of global cross functional teams from start to finish; effectively communicates with clients to identify and resolve complex ITX issues; willingness to travel to client locations, when needed.

Technical Expertise: The senior leadership role requires experience with structuring tax planning, voluntary compliance procedures, foreign investment reporting, treaty-based positions, anti-deferral regimes, and inbound/outbound transactions; demonstrates confidence and understanding of technical and practical issues associated with ITX consulting and compliance for both corporate and individual tax clients; possesses deep technical ITX knowledge and remains up to date on pertinent tax legislation and its impact on both taxpayers and the firm; willingness to train staff accountants and build a successful ITX practice; liaises with partners to provide practical solutions for ITX matters; coordinates responses to IRS notices associated with ITX audits; engages in technical research and writing on ITX issues.

Professionalism:  This senior leadership role reports directly to the Consulting Practice Area Leader and will also serve on the tax leadership team.  The individual will be responsible for overseeing the quality, control, policies, process, and procedures for building the ITX practice.  Working alongside other tax and consulting team leaders (R&D, TP, Provision, Valuation, Client Advisory Services, Data Analytics), the individual will assist with business development to new and existing clients.  The individual will operate in a highly collaborative working environment on various cross functional teams to provide practical solutions to our clients.

Administrative: Participates in planning and scheduling of client assignments/engagements; evaluating performance and providing feedback to staff; attending client meetings, firm meetings and other events as requested.

Tax Senior Accountant

Hybrid or remote schedules available for a senior tax accountant with 2-4 years of experience.

Responsibilities include: developing an understanding of pertinent IRC sections and regulations; proficiently preparing all but the most complex corporate, individual, partnership, fiduciary or other tax returns; performing tax research on less complex issues; analyzing less-complex IRS notice responses and drafting routine responses in reply; preparing less-complex tax projections for clients; assist with the training of staff accountants; actively pursuing CPA license if not already licensed.

I.T. Systems Technician

Position Type:  Salaried/Exempt                           Location:  Greensboro, NC

Responsibilities:

  • Hardware support including assistance with physical installation, configuration, and testing of computers, network equipment, printers, scanners, and other resources.
  • Providing level 2 User Support for Citrix, Microsoft, and accounting industry software.
  • Trouble-shooting software and hardware issues to the root cause.
  • Providing onsite and remote audio and video tool support for meetings in conference rooms, the training room, and remote event locations.
  • Assisting remote users with laptops, home office equipment, and network connectivity.
  • Assisting with some IT managerial tasks such as vendor management, product evaluation, acquisition and renewals, and other IT administrative functions.
  • Assisting with Microsoft updates and system configuration changes.
  • Participating in rotating schedule of team’s on-call support after business hours including some weekends and holidays.

Qualifications:

  • B.S. Degree or equivalent in Information Technology or a related field of study.
  • 2-3 years of experience in the I.T. field.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and collaborate on projects and troubleshooting issues.
  • I.T. experience with an accounting firm a plus, but not required.
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize and work under pressure.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Good customer service skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve computer and software problems.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced environment.

Essential Physical Requirements:

  • Onsite presence in an office environment (this is not a remote or hybrid position)
  • Communicating with others in person and remotely with video calls.
  • Valid NC driver’s license, good motor vehicle record, and ability to travel.

Senior Tax Manager - Real Estate

Responsibilities:

  • Mastering responsibilities of manager
  • Reviewing the engagement prior to the review by partner, answering any questions the client may have, and ensuring that there is a complete understanding of the nature and terms of the engagement
  • Supervising managers, supervisors, and senior accountants; evaluating their performance and providing them with feedback with regards to evaluations
  • Following the progress of work during an engagement in relation to budgeted time and scheduled dates of completion; spending as much time as possible with the client’s management group; periodically reviewing the working papers as the job progresses; determining whether all phases of the engagement are being carried out properly and in the best sequence; anticipating the problem areas and questions that might arise
  • Following the return through processing, answering any questions that arise and supervising distribution according to the client’s instructions
  • Knowing the client’s impression in regard to the conduct of the engagement
  • Actively engaging in practice development on a regular basis to establish new relationships that can grow into revenue-generating opportunities for the firm
  • Maintaining cross-departmental working relationships to ensure proper completion of all client engagements

Qualifications:
